Ever wanted voice guided navigation for free? Google Maps as you all know is a free app that comes pre installed on every android device. But it doesnt offer the features of a true navigation device like SATNAV, MapmyIndia etc. Google released its navigation system (beta) in US months back. In India and in many other countries this feature is locked.

Don't worry xda-developers always comes out with a solution

Senior member stian230 has unlocked the navigation feature of Google Maps.

You need to have root explorer titanium backup installed

1. In Titanium Backup, select Maps and make a backup.

2. Uninstall Maps

3. In root explorer select mount r/w and place the apk in system/app/

1. downloaded install the apk first(Dont start the game now)

2. Download cache and extract the file gangstar and copy the folder gangstar to

/gameloft/games(if such a directory is not present you have to create it)

3. Open Chainfire app and under setting check only "reduce texture quality" with plugin qualcomm

I know that most users including me were disappointed as they where not able to play games like

Raging thunder 2 ,NFS shift, Asphalt 5 etc

Just to clear all doubts: GALAXY 3 HAS A GPU (only not so great so as to name it like adreno 205 etc)

Chainfire a member(recoginzed developer and senior moderator ) of xda-developers.com has developed an application that will enable all these games playable on our galaxy 3.

The name of application is Chainfire3D. It can be downloaded from android market

Also ensure that the phone is rooted( for rooting use z4root ).

Steps

Step 1: download and install Chainfire3D

step 2: open the app and install the drivers(a reboot will occur)

step 3: Download the plugins and place them on root of sdcard

Step 4: Open the chainfire again and install plugins . The app will search sdcard for plugins . There are 3 plugins POWERVR, QUALCOMM and NVIDIA. Install all.

Step 5: Then go to Default openGL settings select only Reduce texture quality and use plugin Qualcomm

Step 6: Enjoy playing games that you have never dreamed of playing on galaxy 3
